Hiya everyone! Long time no journal haha.

I'm definitely more active on my tumblr, but I still like to check dA so don't worry.

The news is, I finished a project! It's a Trust Me (Durarara ED 1) Parody, which used to be really popular back in the day. I had started the project technically more than five years ago, but the files were left in my harddrive to gather dust. I only completed drawing about 7/15 characters until I got too busy with high school and lost motivation. This time though, it's complete! I managed to design characters that have never been drawn to completion before, the four main lieutenants of the big bad, and the big bad himself. I scoured our old forums, and collected all sorts of reference. It was truly a big project!

It's full of inside-jokes but that aside, I worked really hard in After Effects to make the circles happen. The keyframes kept getting messed up so that was quite frustrating. But it's done now! Hope you enjoy watching it.

I was looking at the really old art, like the REALLY old art that I have...and the improvement meme I did back in 2010 ( ), and I really think man...I did improve my art a lot!

It's this positivity towards my art that I haven't really felt in a while.

At school I am around a lot of people who say, "My art sucks," or, "Wow that person's art is so good I'm going give up." That isn't healthy for me, and I know it, but I can't quite avoid my classmates (though looking at my social life it wouldn't make much of a difference...that's another can of worms though.)

Looking at my older stuff and my newer stuff made me come to the realization (again) that it really feels like I have improved quite a lot, and I am improving still even if it's not as fast as it was at certain points. It's a constant uphill climb with plateaus every now and then, and yet the incline can only reach up and up and up into infinity.

What I'm doing now is procrastinating on an assignment (the recent Photoshop armageddon has dampened my spirits considerably and I fear that my anxiety of just simply looking at the icon on my taskbar will take time to leave me), but this surge of positive emotions in a time where I am truly a mess is quite a refreshing change.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...keep drawing. Even if you don't get views, even if you don't get comments, even if you think you aren't progressing. Keep drawing. Keep writing. Keep pushing forward. Stuck in a rut? Change it up. Try traditional art. Make a mess with crayons. Draw squiggly lines with your mouse. Open up Paint or any low-end drawing program. Try animating (it's harder than it looks). Try, try, try.

And one day, who knows? You'll look back and say, "Wow, I've really truly most certainly have improved."

1) How long have you been on DeviantArt?

7+5 is...? 12? Oh my gosh what the heck??

Oh scared myself, no. No. Just 7. I can't math xD

dA was like, the little secret I kept from my mom. "Hehehehhe look at me posting my art online!! I am so kewl doing this!" But then I mean, I connected with my IRL friends here, and even though most of them are gone and have moved on, I still like to keep tabs on this place. I'm still drawing, just getting lazy in scanning, and it's just so much easier to snap a pic with my phone and post it on Tumblr.

Also, soooo soooo immature. I was the epitome of weeb dweeb...and Marth still holds a niche in my heart.

I was a fanartist, I still am a fanartist, but I'm hoping to get more originals up soon.

2) What does your username mean?

Original it was supposed to be my pen name, because I share initials with it. But then it just sort of became my default username for a lot of things, which sprouted into me naming Ete after it. I use a separate username for gaming though, because man, I wouldn't take "eternalwinters" seriously. Not that I need to be taken seriously while gaming xD

3) Describe yourself in three words.

4) Are you left or right handed?

Right handed like most of the world.

5) What was your first deviation?

Hmmmmm....should I dig this up? Maybe I should. Maybe I shouldn't.

6) What is your favourite type of art to create?

Digital sketches and traditional painting. I love painting, I'm just not able to get my hands on paints very often.

7) If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

Watercolor. Dat transparency and perfectionism that is required...

8) What was your first favourite?

Is this even possible to check at this point? I have like thousands of favorites, if not more. AND I used to be very good at putting them in folders. Probably some Marth-related thing.

9) What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

Friend's art, things that I like the style of, funny things.

10) Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

Yuumei is an feel/style inspiration to me, Mr--Jack is also another (and he works for Blizzard because he drew fanart, I mean, c'mon how cool of a story is that), and charcoalfeather because damn can she sketch faces that actually look different omg?????               
 
11) If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

Not sure if I want to meet them in real life. I'm more attracted to their art. Maybe to talk to for a bit.

12) How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

I'm encouraged by comments and critique, when I actually receive critique!

13) What are your preferred tools to create art?

Photoshop and me hands. Also a mechanical pencil and a Pentel click eraser. Or a gigantic Mono eraser xD

14) What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Anywhere but home.

15) What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

Looking back at all of my art and going, "DAMN I GOT SO MUCH BETTER???!!!??" Also how my speech patterns have changed since middle school xD
